Receiving Video
To see other participants in a conference, double click their name in the Participants window that opened when you connected to the reflector.

You can adjust the colors in the received vide by choosing Video Colors from the Video menu.
If you click on either the users image or their name in the participants list, adjusting the controls on the Colors window will adjust that video.

Time

The time column indicates that time that the person has been in the room since YOU came in the room

All the columns are sortable

just click the column headings in the participants panel

Alpha is the default

Other options to sort are :

1.  Who is viewing you

2 . Who has your vid open

3.  by codec,

4.  IP address,

5.  Version

The Chat column gets an icon in it when you filtered that person

 

Preferences

VChat/Preferences or in the menu bar

Default Video Size
Pref_VideoSize.jpg (24546 bytes)


This selects the frame size videos will be displayed at when they are first opened.
You can always resize a video by dragging its resize region in the bottom right corner.

Timers

 

Connection Timeout

VChat will cease trying to establish a connection with a remote peer or reflector after this time has elapsed.

Client Time Out

If the reflector sends no data for a client in this time interval, VChat will assume that the client has left the reflector.

Maximum Frame Rate
Pref_MaxFrameRate.jpg (24777 bytes)

You may wish to adjust this to a lower value (say 5 fps) to lower the CPU used by VChat when it is idling.
The frame rate is adjusted dynamically when you are connected to a remote host


Session Time Out

If the remote site sends no data in this time interval, VChat will assume that the remote site has closed the connection and disconnect.

Chat Market Interval
Pref_ChatMarker.jpg (24433 bytes)

Puts a time-stamp in the chat window every n minutes - default is 15 minutes.
iChat (mac IM client) has a similar thing
