Registry Editing
A complete uninstallation of CU-SeeMe v4.X
can be accomplished by the following Steps
(Please note: During this process, you will be required to delete
certain files and text sections within your system's Windows Registry. This is VERY
DANGEROUS if done wrong. Please take great care and adhere carefully to the steps outlined
below, so as not to delete any crucial files or sections of a file by mistake.)
*** WARNING! BE AWARE THAT ANY IMPROPER CHANGES MADE WHEN MODIFYING
THE WINDOWS REGISTRY CAN POTENTIALLY CRIPPLE YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MADE
A BACKUP BEFORE MAKING ANY EDITS! ***
FIRST: Back up your Registry:
- Go to the Start menu
- Select Run
- Type in: regedit then click on OK
- In the Registry Editor window select Export Registry File from the Registry menu
- From the pull-down menu at the top of the Export Registry File window, select Desktop
(this will place your backup file on your system's desktop)
- Name the file (Regbackup for example) and click on Save
Now we begin the registry changes
We are assuming that you have already removed the programs at:
START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL/ADD-REMOVE PROGRAMS
Go to START/RUN and type in "REGEDIT"
and Click "OK". Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/ and delete the
"WhitePine" folder. Then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ and delete the "WhitePine" folder. Now close the
Registry.
You have now completely uninstalled CU-SeeMe Pro v4.01. Please note that there are other
files that are placed onto your
system during installation. However, these files are shared Windows system files, and
therefore deleting them may cause
difficulties with other programs and/or the Windows operating system. For this reason, we
recommend that you do not remove
these files.
