If no conference number is specified, you will get the conference selection menu so you can choose a conference.

If a conference number is specified, there is also a field for the conference password, and you will be connected directly to that conference without having to go through the conference selection menu.

The ILS server is basically an email address to IP address translation device. You can look for people by their email address and then choose to "Direct Connect" to them.

But it doesn't tell you if the person is already connected to someone else, or if they're on a reflector.
