Quick Cam Express USB

The QuickCam Express is compatible with CU-SeeMe Pro. The installation process for the QuickCam Express loads two drivers, a Logitech driver and the WDM Image Capture driver. The WDM Image Capture driver is the one that must be selected for use with CU-SeeMe Pro.

There is also a streaming issue between the CU-SeeMe Pro program and the QuickCam Express (USB) drivers. To compensate for this you need to disable streaming video in CU-SeeMe Pro for this camera.

There is an easy-to-use patch for both issues. Please follow the instructions below.

WARNING! BE AWARE THAT ANY IMPROPER CHANGES MADE WHEN MODIFYING THE WINDOWS REGISTRY CAN POTENTIALLY CRIPPLE YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MADE A BACKUP BEFORE MAKING ANY EDITS!

To back up your Registry:

1. Go to the Start menu
2. Select Run
3. Type in: regedit then click on OK
4. In the Registry Editor window select Export Registry File from the Registry menu
5. From the pull-down menu at the top of the Export Registry File window, select Desktop (this will place your backup file on
6. your system's desktop)
7. Name the file (Regbackup for example) and click on Save


To install the CUseeMe registry patch:

1. Download the new CUseeMe-Patch.reg
2. Place this file on your desktop
3. Double-click on the icon
4. When you are prompted "Are you sure you want to add the information in C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\CUseeMe-Patch.reg to the registry?" Click Yes

Note: This patch is to be applied to the machine after the QuickCam Express software is installed. The patch should be applied before attempting to install CU-SeeMe Pro.

If CU-SeeMe Pro is already installed, it is recommended that you uninstall CU-SeeMe Pro, then apply the patch, then reinstall CU-SeeMe Pro.
