After the hard drive is defragmented, restart your computer.
There once was a time when we would have to deal with the vagaries of memory and page overlap but that has been relegated to the past. Windows 98 has far superior plug and play support than Windows 95 and page faults due to memory address overlap is all but gone. If you are still using Windows 95, the only way (short of editing the registry which is something better left to the professionals) to clean up your system startup is to remove programs from your startup MENU.
This is done by clicking on Start / Settings / Taskbar & Start Menu
Start Menu Programs Tab
Click on Remove

Then double click on the "Startup" folder and
removing all items within it.

If your computer has a program called "Vshield", go ahead and remove it from the startup, no matter which method you use (msconfig or add/remove). This is the factory installed version of "McAfee Virus Scan" and is totally useless, unless you have been regularly updating your virus definitions.
Besides, the program is a LONG way from being the best virus protection. I personally recommend Norton AntiVirus. There are other good AntiVirus programs out there but this is one I know and trust.
One of the most important things to remember is to DEFRAG your hard drive on a regular basis! (At least once a week). This not only keeps the performance level up but it also helps avoid "Invalid Page Fault" errors and limits corruption of system files. Bad shutdowns also cause file corruption so always remember to use the "Start/Shutdown" buttons when you turn off your computer.
I hope this has helped you resolve some of your problems when using cu-seeme software. There are other issues that could cause problems (BIOS settings and old Legacy software) but few people will experience these.
The only other thing I would like to emphasize is make sure you have the latest drivers for your hardware. Make a list of the hardware in your computer (Graphics adapter, sound card, modem, etc.). Go to the web site of your hardware manufacturer and download the latest and greatest drivers for each and every piece of hardware in your system. Most fatal errors (i.e. Blue Screen of Death) are caused by bad or out of date drivers.
